Dear Mt. Carmel Community,

The Easter Season continues as we celebrate and welcome those receiving the initiation Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.

At the Easter Vigil we welcomed the Adults into our Catholic Christian WAY of LIFE by extending the three Sacraments of Initiation. Their preparation, beginning in early September, has brought them to a hopeful awareness of a Christian Way of Life.  The month of May brings the awareness of how to live the life of Christ personally and in community with other believers.

Infants continue to be Baptized during the seven weeks of Easter.  Their parents and grandparents model the faith in their early years of infancy leading them to the other Sacraments.

Last Saturday we remembered and celebrated with our younger children as they received Eucharist for the first time.  What a spiritual high-light it is for them in their innocence as they receive Jesus the first time.  For us adults too, it is a precious memory as we continue to renew ourselves to how Jesus remains for us.

In a few weeks the Easter Season ends with Pentecost, the Birthday of the Church, on the weekend of May 27^th.  Confirmation will be extended to our young teens of our parish a week later at our sister parish, Our Lady of the Assumption in Welby.  Confirmation completes Baptism for these young teens who say YES to our Catholic Christian Way of Life.

May the Easter Shalom/Peace of the Risen Jesus be among us believers.
