ADVENT GREETINGS!

Three weeks remaining in preparation to again celebrate and remember the birth of Jesus.  It is also a time to welcome back to the church those who are non-practicing the Catholic Faith.  We are called to do so in love and care, not in a guilt or harmful way.

Last Sunday we began a new church year in which on most Sundays the Gospel of St. Mark (the shortest) will be proclaimed.  The remaining Sundays will be that of St. John.  Please be aware of these readings in our new Scripture and Song Book.

We also began in ALL English speaking countries the New Roman Missal translation directly from the Latin.  It will take some time for priest-presider and congregation to find a new comfort zone since any change takes time.  Remember we have been using the same responses and hearing the priest prayers since 1975!  As we move forward in our communal worship we remain strong beyond the translation in our faith building and supporting one another as disciples of the Lord to be counter cultural in our modern western society.

As we move toward the end of our calendar year we end it celebrating the eight days of Christmas.  May these days revew us again as only an infant can to the wonder of God alive in or daily lives.

Charles Dickens says, “It is good to be children, and never better than at Christmas.”

On behalf of the pastoral and support staffs the BLESSINGS OF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON.

Concludo I’auguravi in Buon Natale,

Ciao,

Padre Ugo
