On the Feast of the Assumption, we commemorate the Blessed Mother's happy departure from her earthly life and the assumption of her body and soul into Heaven. We also remember the 792nd anniversary of Our Lady's appearance to the Seven Holy Founders and the official founding of the Servite Order. ​ ​​The Assumption of the BVM is a Holy Day of Obligation.
